West Alabama is full gospel and music talent period. One young lady does not disappoint and is making noise as a independent gospel artist in the country.
LaTisha Johnson Montgomery is an American singer/songwriter from Fayette, Alabama. Her journey in music began when she was just a child at the age of seven; She sang in the church choir at the Unity Grove Missionary Baptist Church as a soprano. As an adult, LaTisha would continue her journey in the music industry by singing background for an all-female quartet group which originated in Tuscaloosa, Al for the duration of two years.
In December 2020, LaTisha released her first EP entitled "Christmas Classics" which included three of the worlds most enjoyed Christmas songs. Although she has a background in traditional gospel music, LaTisha has a unique style of writing and singing which sets her apart.
On January 1,2021 she released her second EP entitled "Issues of My Heart" which showcases her desire to be different and authentic. She has gained multiple singing performances including National Anthem performances for the University of Alabama and Texas A&M's sporting events, and for the National Basketball Association (NBA) where she opened for the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers game during their regular season and later invited back twice for the Utah Jazz's playoff season of 2021. Soon after, she joined the CSE family and was chosen for the cover of C-Stage Entertainments' September issue.
Gospel music historian and columnist Robert M. Marovich of the Journal of Gospel music describes "Gospel singer Latisha Johnson Montgomery’s high notes evoke the crackly rawness of Jennifer Hudson. I wouldn’t be surprised if Montgomery finds inspiration in Hudson’s singing, as the latter’s sometimes gruff delivery, along with electronic swagger drawn from pop, R&B, and hip hop, dominate Issues of My Heart."
Montgomery continues to pursue her dreams and continues to seek guidance from Jesus Christ as her music journey goes higher and higher.
