Our Tuscaloosa Gospel Spotlight artist of the week is Pastor Demetrius Smith. He is known locally as the lead singer of Tuscaloosa quartet group, Blest By Four and the pastor of Mt. Carmel Community Church in Duncanville. He has released a brand new single "Pour Out A Blessing" for the debut of his solo career.

Demetrius P. Smith Sr was born August, 17 1969, in Duncanville, AL. He was the first born son and oldest of six siblings. He was raised, in faith,  as a part of the AME tradition and was baptized at the age of 11 at Friendship Church after a life-changing experience on the "mourner bench". Being born into a family of musicians and singers, his charge to follow in those footsteps began around the age of 14 as he played bass guitar and sang with their family group, The SpiritualAires of Duncanville, AL.

After years of traveling and singing, he and his siblings formed the nationally acclaimed gospel group "Blest By Four". The group became known as a powerful, anointed group that was reshaping the lives of people through their music and love for God. It was during that time, Demetrius Smith became a deacon at Mt. Carmel Community Church and served under Pastor Cordell Newman. Soon after, Demetrius accepted his calling into ministry and preached his first sermon in November of 2012.

In 2014, Min. Demetrius Smith Sr, was officially installed as the new Pastor of Mt Carmel Community Church. Under his leadership Mt Carmel has taken in 70+ new members, licensed new ministers, and ordained new deacons. Pastor Smith and MC3 is committed to kingdom building along with serving the community through love and support.

In 2017, Pastor Demetrius Smith Sr, graduated from Interdenominational School of Theology in Atlanta, GA. He hopes to continue his education through life and study. He believes in the kingdom connecting power of prayer, humility and faith to make the world a better place.

Demetrius P. Smith Sr has been married to Renee Smith for over 20 amazing years and they have three boys, Demetrius Smith Jr, Jason Smith and Terrell Smith.

The new single "Pour Out A Blessing" is a powerful release and starts off with him opening up with the scripture of Luke 6:38 talking about giving and receiving blessings from God. The central message is that God will pour blessings we will not have room to receive and that you need to open your windows and allow God to pour into you. The single is energetic, great vocals and stays true to his quartet roots. You can watch the video on Youtube and is available on all digital platforms for your streaming and downloading pleasure.
