Alabama has a rich amount of independent gospel recording artists who provide the best in gospel music from across the state from choirs to quartet and more. Independent gospel recording artists have really emerged in the last ten years and their presence is being felt not only in Alabama but across the nation. Honor and recognition of our own independent recording artists is necessary and one organization founded in Mobile, Alabama has stepped to the plate to honor our own and other recording artists from across the country. The Voices of Gospel Awards is preparing to enter its 6th year of honoring Alabama gospel recording artists and national independent recording artists. The Voices of Gospel Music Awards is an associated organization of Gospel Sounds Radio Network founded in 2015; and our goal is providing a weekend of fun and excitement for Independent Gospel Music Artists, Pastors, Community Leaders, Civil Rights Leaders, Record Labels, Radio Personalities and so many more to enjoy, and fellowship together for what God has done over the years and with new beginnings.
The Voices of Gospel Music Awards will spotlight and honor over 24 categories for their labor and industry dedication in spreading the message of Jesus Christ through Gospel music. We will also honor Religious and Community leaders, Civil Rights Legends and so many more.
The Voices of Gospel Music Awards is founded by Elder Gary Johnson of Mobile, Alabama. Elder Johnson is the CEO of Gospel Sounds Radio Network. He also founded and hosted the Annual Gospel Music Showcase over the past 7 years, which has been a success. Elder Johnson has worked to bring so many independent artists together in one place to showcase their talents from all over the country.He has a passion and love for the Gospel music industry and helping those artists that have great talent and have been overlooked over the years. Elder Johnson also pastors Miracle Temple Church in Biloxi, MS.
It is their "Mission" to recognize, appreciate and honor the great gospel talent across the country! The awards ceremony has hosted big gospel names from Doug Williams to Ted Winn. I plan to attend next year and I encourage you to as well and nominate a local group or artist.
