Praise 93.3 & 790 WTSK salutes Pastor Smith of Refresh Family Church as our Tuscaloosa Pastor of the Week. Pastor Smith has done a tremendous job in pastoring the Tuscaloosa campus of the Refresh Family Church during the pandemic and even conducting programs through Zoom video conferences.

Pastor Gary Daniel Smith serves in Leadership as an ordained Minister at Refresh Family Church under the Apostolic Mantle of Apostle Bishop Stephen A. Davis. With 5 locations, including the main Campus in Birmingham, Tarrant City, Brent, and Mableton, GA, Pastor Smith was chosen, anointed and empowered to serve as Campus Pastor in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he has served for the past 6 years.

Pastor Smith is a native of Goodwater, Alabama. A graduate of Central High School of Coosa County, he attended Central Alabama Community College, majoring in Business/Marketing. He is currently pursing a Theology degree from Regent University. Pastor Smith is employed by Mercedes Benz U.S. International as a Production Process Engineer. He has been with the company for 24 years.

He has worked with Crusaders program in the New Antioch Bethlehem District of the Northwest Region of Alabama, served as a Mentor with the Jefferson County Juvenile Court System, as well as with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. Pastor Smith is active in the city of Tuscaloosa mentoring the youth and offering hope through Jesus Christ to the lost, the least, and the last.

A Philanthropist, Entrepreneur and Servant, Pastor Smith is active in Mission Work in Africa, playing an integral part in support and service to the Stephen A. Davis Orphanage in Liberia.

He and his wife, Tyree, have been married for 27 years. They have three children, Javen, Bria, and Jai, one grandson, Jaiden and another one on the way.

Pastor Smith’s leadership style is centered around the church motto: “Embodying Jesus Christ until He is seen in the way we Love, Live and Lead Like Christ.” His purpose is to fulfill the mandate handed down by his Apostle to “Serve the needs of families, reach the lost, equip the saints, reach the nations, and transfer to generations.”
