Beulah Baptist Church to Move Food Giveaway to Saturday
Earlier in the week, Earnestine Tucker called from Beulah Baptist Church to let us know that 100 boxes of food would be given away each Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for service employers who lost income as a result of COVID-19 closures and decrease in hours.
The boxes are said to feed a family of four for an entire week.
However, because of the recently announced 24-hour curfew, the giveaway for Monday, March 30th has been moved to Saturday, March 28th. The time remains the same (11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.).
This is said to give those who may benefit from the drive an opportunity to receive the goods without violating the curfew.
Service providers in the targeted population includes those who are cooks, maids, housekeepers, servers, daycare providers, babysitters, etc. To receive a box, proof of employment is mandatory. This could be an employee ID, recent check stub, or even a verifiable letter from a client.
Be sure to spread the word!
