COVID-19 Touches Tide Family Member
Incoming freshman Will Anderson is expected to become a major contributor to the Crimson Tide defense, potentially as early as the upcoming 2020 season. The defensive end is looking to take on the challenge of becoming a play-maker on the Alabama defense.
Anderson, a five-star prospect from Dutchtown High School in Hampton, Georgia, has already enrolled at the University of Alabama but adjusting to college life is not the biggest challenge he currently faces. According to Anderson's mother on Twitter, both of his grandparents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 coronavirus.
Anderson's mother has already received encouraging responses to her Twitter post, we ask those who so choose to join together as an Alabama family to pray for the Anderson's as they face this disease. There are 1,643 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state of Georgia at this time and 531 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state of Alabama at this time.
Currently there are no team activities for any SEC athletic teams, and the University of Alabama has cancelled in-person classes for the remainder of the semester.
