Alabama’s Ashley Wright Releases New Gospel Album
Meet Contemporary Gospel Recording Artist, Ashley J. Wright. Ashley was introduced to music at age 3. She began writing and recording her first songs at age 12. In 2016, Ashley wrote and produced her single debut "Jesus Lay Your Hands on Me." She has appeared on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), Bobby Jones Presents and a host of other media appearances. Ashley has shared the stage with leading gospel artists like Kirk Franklin, Erica Campbell, Tasha Cobbs, and many other notable musicians.
Contemporary Gospel Recording Artist Ashley Wright was born in the Capital City Montgomery, Alabama. Ashley was introduced to music at age 3 when her mother decided to take piano lessons. A piano was purchased for their home and shortly after, Ashley became a self-taught musician. Her parents encouraged her to pursue her God given musical talents. Ashley joined her church's youth choir at the age of 4. She sang lead, wrote and recited poems for church functions and school plays. She began writing and recording her first songs at age 12. She made music videos singing her original music. Ashley was not only a singer and musician, she also trained and competed as a professional ice skater for 10 years.
Throughout her childhood and teen years, Ashley excelled in the classroom, ice skating and vocal performance. In 2007, Ashley graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery, where she was voted "Most Talented of the Senior Class". She was awarded the Nat King Cole Scholarship and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Academic Award for her academic excellence and talents. Ashley attended Auburn University Montgomery where she served in the Student Government Association, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Sigma Alpha Pi Honor Society of Leadership and Success. Ashley took a hiatus from pursuing a music and skating career to further her education and serve as a volunteer to several organizations. In 2011, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Auburn Montgomery. In 2015, she graduated from Troy University with a Master's in Business Administration.
Ashley became a business owner in 2012. She began an event planning firm, Eventures by Ashley, LLC which specializes in entertainment and non-profit fundraising. Her company most notably sponsors the Annual Lift Up! Lupus Benefit Gospel Concert, benefiting the Lupus Foundation of America. In 2016, Ashley wrote and produced her single debut "Jesus Lay Your Hands on Me" which features the Alabama gospel group Definitely Blessed. She appeared on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) , Bobby Jones Presents, and a host of music videos, television and radio shows. Her music videos have reached thousands of views. She has shared the stage with leading gospel artists Kirk Franklin, Bobby Jones, Erica Campbell, Tasha Cobbs, Vashawn Mitchell, Byron Cage, Kierra Sheard, Jekalyn Carr, and many other notable artists. Ashley has ministered music all over the United States. She enjoys using her talented soulful voice to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer (The Joy to Life Foundation) and Lupus (The Lupus Foundation of America), two diseases that have personally impacted her family. Ashley is a motivational speaker. She also enjoys educating and empowering future female leaders and entrepreneurs. Ashley was crowned the 2017 Miss Globe Alabama United States and was commended by the Mayor of Montgomery, Todd Strange and Alabama's Governor, Kaye Ivey for her service within the community. Ashley serves on the worship team at the Church of the Highlands Montgomery Campus and ministers music throughout the United States. She recently released a new single titled "God Will"
Ashley has ministered music all over the United States. This singing Powerhouse is on the move as she recently released her debut solo album "World Bound No More (Deluxe Edition)." in September 2021.
