Former Louisville football wide receiver Tyler Harrell is moving to Tuscaloosa, Ala. Harrell announced his decision to transfer to the Tide via a social media post on Friday afternoon.

This comes days after Harrell visited The University of Alabama and was spotted at Alabama's annual A-Day game over the weekend wearing a crimson jacket with the Alabama 'A' on the front.

The Miami, Fla. native had a career-high season with the Cardinals last year, grabbing 18 receptions in 13 games, for 523 yards and six TDs. Harrell saw time on special teams last season as well, attempting four kick returns for 90 yards.

In 2021, Harrell ranked on the team with the: fifth-most receptions, third most receiving yards, the highest average yards per carry, the second-longest reception, and the most receiving touchdowns.

Harrell officially put his name in the transfer portal on April 12, 2022, and from the get-go, reports swirled that his preferred destination was the Crimson Tide.

"As my time at the University of Louisville is coming to an end, I want to express how grateful I am to have been a part of this program for the past four seasons. I have had the opportunity to grow and mature as a player and person," said Harrell.

Harrell joins four other transfers who will be wearing crimson and white this fall: offensive tackle Tyler Steen from Vanderbilt, cornerback Eli Ricks from LSU, running back Jahmyr Gibbs from Georgia Tech, and wide receiver Jermaine Burton from Georgia.

The Louisville Cardinals finished in fourth place in the ACC last season, after going 6-7 overall, including 4-4 in conference play.
