This is information that we all should be aware of, in my opinion.

No matter where you live in Alabama, it is important to know if you are living near a registered sex offender.

A recent horrific story, out of Oklahoma, saw a sex offender with multiple arrests murder seven people.

Since the murders, even more, evidence has been uncovered that points to the possibility of more children being hurt at this house of horrors.

What about your neighborhood? I looked up the area where I live in Northport, and then the area near my office in Tuscaloosa.

In looking at a 3-mile radius around the 35405 zip code in Tuscaloosa, this is the report I found.

47 records in one Tuscaloosa report, in a 3-mile radius.

In just my first attempt at digging deeper for more information, I uncovered this scary individual who was convicted of enticing a child into his vehicle, among other things.

Another offender was convicted of crimes involving a 10-year-old female.

These are all found right around neighborhoods in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

All parents and/or guardians need to know if any offenders are living near their homes.

The sex offender public website is named after Dru Sjodin, a young lady who was kidnapped and murdered by a man who had been released from prison only six months before her death.

Dru was a beautiful young lady who had no clue that this monster had been released and was now living in a city near her.

It is simply heartbreaking. It's also more evidence that child predators never get better and never recover from the urges they have.

They can't be rehabilitated. So, we must be aware of where they are at all times, for the sake of our children.
