Nearly 8,000 Alabama fans made their way into Coleman Coliseum on Tuesday night to usher in a new era of Alabama basketball. The first-ever Tide Tipoff event turned out to be a big success thanks to an uptempo and energetic night on the court.

Depending on who you ask, the team dance routines might have stolen the show and the Rae Sremmurd performance had everyone dancing in the arena. But it was hard to top the traditional competitions of the dunk contest and 3-point shooting competition.

Freshmen Donta Hall and Brandon Austin both showed their leaping abilities, while senior Retin Obasohan's displayed his tremendous athleticism. Watch the entire dunk contest below.

The three point competition also featured two more newcomers: freshman Lawson Schaffer and transfer Avery Johnson Jr. It was Schaffer that stole the show with 17 points for the men. On the women's side, Khadijah Carter won a one-rack tiebreaker by making every shot to take the crown.
