A fugitive who is accused of shooting at law enforcement officers in two states is being sought. Because he is still on the run, schools are being closed.

According to Fox 6, Floyd Ray Cook is at large and is believed to be on foot after a Saturday shootout with a Kentucky state trooper. Schools in Kentucky's Cumberland County are closed for a second day, as Cook is seen as very dangerous. He came to Kentucky after allegedly shooting and wounding a Tennessee police officer Saturday and has been added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Top Ten Most Wanted list.

Described as a 6-foot, 160-pound white male with blue eyes, and gray hair, Cook is a serial offender who has been convicted of numerous crimes including rape, burglary, robbery, assault, and riot. He is a registered sex offender who is on parole for the rest of his life.
