UAB's Callahan Eye Clinic expanded its practice to Tuscaloosa and opened their 18th facility in the state on Monday.

According to a release from UAB News, the new clinic is located at 1030 Fairfax Park in North Tuscaloosa and will offer patients access to comprehensive eye care specialists and an on-site optical store.

The clinic will offer family eye care, eye exams, cataract evaluations, glaucoma screenings, cornea diagnosis and treatment and contact lens evaluations to its patients. Patients will also be eligible to receive a 15% discount on all sunglasses and eyeglasses.

Eric Sputh, M.D. and Michelle Langkawel, O.D. will serve as providers at the new clinic after practicing in Tuscaloosa for several years.

UAB Callahan Eye CEO Rett Glover said they are excited to have both doctors join the team and offer eye care to the Tuscaloosa community.

"We have been looking to join the Tuscaloosa area for some time, and their experience and reputation within the community will be invaluable assets," Glover said in the release. "With this new clinic and partnership, we will be able to deliver the best care in a convenient location while continuing to build relationships and provide exceptional patient experiences for those living in and near the city of Tuscaloosa."
