Praise 93.3 & 790 WTSK salutes Pastor Ricky McKinney as our Tuscaloosa Pastor of the Week. McKinney serves as spiritual leader to his congregation and judge for the City of Tuscaloosa. He has impacted the community in immeasurable ways as a pastor, judge, and mentor.

Pastor Ricky J. McKinney was elected as the fifth pastor of Weeping Mary Baptist Church on Sunday, January 15, 2012 and was installed as pastor on Sunday, March 25, 2012. Pastor McKinney came with a vision and plans to grow the church, and to more efficiently meet the needs of the membership, the community and the world at large.
      Ricky Joe McKinney was born May 16, 1958, in Talladega, Alabama to Frank and Katie Mae McKinney. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized by his uncle, the Reverend B. A. McKinney of Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Talladega.
​      He has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in History, Business Administration and Politics from Talladega College,  a Masters degree in Public Policy and Administration from Mississippi State University where he was a Robert F. Kennedy Scholar, a  Juris Doctor degree from the University of Alabama School of Law, and he has completed numerous other studies and levels of education pertinent to his distinguished career in law and to his calling as a Pastor.

      A bi-vocational pastor, Reverend McKinney has practiced law since 1986 and on January 5, 2015, Rev. McKinney was sworn in as Municipal Court Judge for the City of Tuscaloosa where he currently serves.
