Tuscaloosa Pastor of the Week: Dr. Lorenza James

Praise 93.3 & 790 WTSK salutes our Tuscaloosa Pastor of the Week, Pastor and Dr. Lorenza James of the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa. Pastor James is strong yet gentle giant and has proven his leadership within his church and the West Alabama community. He has recently released a brand new book as well.

Rev. (Dr.) Lorenza James has served as pastor of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa, Alabama since 1995. He is a graduate of The University of Alabama (BA), American Intercontinental University (M. Ed.), and Northcentral University (Ed. D.).

The Tabernacle Baptist Church established in 1922, came under Pastor James leadership in 1995 and has grown and even paid off the current church in 1996 instead of 2013.  Pastor James has served as a crossing guard and does jail ministry at the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

He is a veteran of the U.S. Army attaining the active-duty rank of Captain. His 47 years of marriage to the former Ms. Deborah Harris include five children, and seven grandchildren.

His love for God, church, and people has been the primary motivation and passion for writing a brand new book. The new book entitled, "Passion" which focuses on the energy to fuel our lives, love and spiritual intimacy with God. Pastor James explains, that "love, life, and spiritual intimacy are the pursuits human beings long to find and and personally explore for happiness and self fulfillment."
