The 2022 World Games will take place in Birmingham, Alabama July 7th-17th. They're coming to Alabama and giving a Tuscaloosa institution a chance to represent.

Alabama will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to host the World Games this summer. During its four-decade run, this will only be the second time the World Games will be held in the United States

Held once every four years, the World Games will feature a total of 3,600 athletes, and 30+ unique, multi-disciplinary sports according to the World Games' website

Their site also states that the City of Birmingham should see an estimated economic impact of $256 million from hosting the event.

With all of that potential money made, they're still finding a way to give HBCUs a chance to shine.
