Samuel is a native of Mobile, AL, currently a senior Marketing major at the illustrious Stillman College. He serves as the 88th Student Government Association President. He's a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Epsilon Nu Chapter, Collegiate 100, Student Ambassadors, and PAC. The quote he lives by is "A light does not lose its light by lighting another candle." For him,  it embodies everything Black History stands for. Passing down our history is pertinent because we always need to remember where we've come from so that we lose where we're going. Samuel believes that we must all remember the giants' shoulders that we are standing on and learn from them how to forge our own legacies. Alabama is so rich in history being the birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement and it is important that we learn from those who came before us.

Being from Mobile, Africatown was a big part of his upbringing. Not many people know that the last slave ship that ever came to the United States came to Mobile. We must take the time to learn our history so that it won't be repeated. We have come so far and yet still have so far to go. We must stay bold in our pressing forward and call on the power of ancestors that lived through us because we are truly our hopes and dreams of them
