Recently the world's largest hamburger outlet was served with a rather sizable class action lawsuit. McDonald's is already receiving social media backlash over the question of whether their new menu item, mozzarella sticks, in reality contains any cheese after a few customers were apparently served hollow sticks.

It is claimed in the lawsuit that the sticks are filled with a substance which is mostly composed of starch, in violation of the federal standards of identity for 'mozzarella' cheese, and the contrary to reasonable consumers' expectations regarding the meaning of the term "mozzarella."

McDonald's denies the claims, indicating the company has not engaged in deceptive practices, as "our mozzarella cheese sticks are made with 100 percent low moisture part skim mozzarella cheese."
