Happy Face . . . .

Those round, yellow, happy faces appear to be everywhere, on stationery, posters, bumper stickers, and even billboards. Often accompanied by the word "Smile," they suggest that you can put on a smile as easily as you can place a hat on your head. In a sense, that is true. A good actor, for instance can look happy even when they are sad or their hearts are breaking.

It follows that smiles can mean different things. The happy face of an actor says nothing about his inner feelings. The smile of a person who has good health, a secure job, an adequate income, and a nice house may simply reflect a happiness that depends on external circumstances. The very best smile, however, is one that comes from within. It radiates a joy that doesn't depend upon earthly blessings. It can be experienced when a person is deprived of the good things in life.
