James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said that “heavier storms will be capable of producing hail and gusty winds. There is a very low-end risk of an isolated, brief tornado. Additional rain amounts of around one inch are likely for most places.”

The National Weather Service in Birmingham said that " A cold front will pass across Central AL today. This means more chances for showers and storms. There's a small risk of seeing a few strong to severe storms from roughly 11 AM-8 PM for generally the eastern two-thirds of the area."
