Earlier this month, there was a full recall on a candy that I could bet a lot of children in West Alabama had in their Easter baskets or parents had in the pantries at home.

Back in March, there was a full recall on a widely consumed product at Walmart. It was definitely scary because I had this product in my pantry at the time of the recall.

Now luckily my family wasn't harmed due to the recall of the pancake batter nor were we affected by the recall of the Skittles Starburst and Lifesaver Gummies.

This latest recall from the FDA has me searching codes on foods in my pantry like a crazed man.

How is it possible that one of my favorite foods ever that I eat as a snack almost every day is a part of this food recall because of possible salmonella contamination?

After seeing some talk online, I decided to dig deeper and find the truth about the latest food recall that came across my social media accounts. Recently, I found that the FDA announced a recall of Jiffy peanut butter products sold in the US due to potential salmonella contamination.

The FDA says salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems.

The FDA went on to say that healthy persons infected with salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

This is definitely a food recall that had me nervous and checking all the peanut butter in my cabinets. The affected Jif peanut butter includes 16-ounce peanut creamy peanut butter, 16-ounce crunchy peanut butter, creamy and crunchy peanut butter twin packs, natural crunchy peanut butter crunchy, peanut butter to go, and other varieties.
