"A good job is key to one’s dignity and self-worth," Webb said in a release. "Our whole community benefits when everyone has an opportunity to work and to provide for themselves and their family."
Donny Jones, Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama Executive Vice President, said events like these provide second chances to members of the community who are looking to put their past behind them to build towards the future.
"Second chance hiring events are an opportunity for individuals who may have made mistakes in the past to show that they have learned from their experiences and are ready to contribute to the workforce," Jones said. "By providing these individuals with a chance to gain employment, we are not only helping them rebuild their lives but also strengthening our economy and community."
The event will take place from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the McDonald Hughes Center, located at 3101 Martin L. King Jr. Boulevard in Tuscaloosa.
The release said attendees can register for the event by clicking here. Registered companies will conduct some on-site interviews while follow-up interviews may take place over the next few days after the event depending on the number of registrants and resumes received.
