Insane Inflatable Prep: Tips for Running
Next Saturday morning, thousands will converge upon the Tuscaloosa Regional Airport for the Insane Inflatable 5K. The run looks so fun that many people who weren't runners before have signed up! These MIGHT need a little input from experienced runners on tips for running.
Being the person I am, my first thought when accomplishing a new task is motivational music. This morning I came across a list of seven songs that will make a person happy. I'm not sure that happiness is necessarily a factor when running, but I'm sure it will help in preparing for the run.
Another concern that came to mind was wearing the right gear. Air Force shoes and Jordan's generally aren't suited for running. Neither are sandals, jeans or cargo pants/shorts. (Duhhh!) Can you imagine trying to get through THIS wearing either of those?
While it's always good to challenge yourself, it's also important to know your limit. It's ok to go slower than everyone else.
These are the few things I have to keep in mind while preparing for the Insane Inflatable 5K. I know it's going to be a bit more difficult than other races because of the "insane inflatable" obstacles. (You have to watch me. I just MAY run around them.) Avid runners, fitness instructors, gym rats.... Share your tips!
