Hale County Board Of Education Announces Closures Due To Storm Damage
After Thursday's severe weather, Hale County announced a schedule adjustment for its schools and offices.

Due to flooding and storm damage, the Hale County Board of Education announced they will temporarily close all schools and offices on February 4th, 2022. The announcement was made via their Facebook page Thursday evening.
One person has been reported dead after a tornado tore through the town of Sawyerville, which has a population of less than 2,000 people. Hale County EMA Director Russell Weeden confirmed that one person is dead, three people are seriously injured and four more people have been taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
There are also reports of multiple structures damaged or completely destroyed.
