Tuscaloosa Tourism and Sports have partnered with the Bama-Q Grilling Series to host an event entitled "Grilling In T-Town."
The Grilling In T-Town Steak Cook-Off will take place at the Druid City Social on July 9th. Admission is free to the public and guests will be able to enjoy food trucks, a sampling tent, drinks, live music, local vendors, and more.
The event is a Steak Cookoff Association-sanctioned event and the World Food Championship qualifier invite top-tier traveling competitors as a way to promote food sports tourism to the City of Tuscaloosa.
Local businesses, organizations, and amateur backyard cooks are invited and encouraged to register to compete as well. The top-performing locals will be recognized and eligible to win special prize packs.
The competition will also feature a World Food Championships qualifying event with the best dessert taking home a golden ticket to the World Food Championships Finals in Dallas.
The winning steak will earn that competitor a payout of $1000. The second place steak receives $500, the third place is $400, and the fourth place will receive $300.
The winning dessert will earn a $125 payout and second place gets $75.
