Gratitude and Forgiveness – Ephesians 4:32
As we celebrate this New Year in our lives, it is essential to reflect on gratitude and forgiveness. These two virtues are important in our lives as they shape how we relate with ourselves and others.
Gratitude involves acknowledging what we have been given rather than concentrating on what we lack. As Christians, we should always be thankful for all that God has blessed us with, including life, health, family, friends, and opportunities. Moreover, having a grateful heart makes you content with what you have instead of constantly desiring more.
Forgiveness is another crucial virtue that each of us need to embrace regardless of our faith beliefs. It involves letting go of anger or resentment towards someone who has wronged us. Instead of seeking revenge or harboring grudges against those who hurt us; forgiveness teaches us to show compassion even when it is not deserved.
In this new year 2025, let's cultivate habits of being grateful for everything God has done for us and forgiving those who may have hurt you intentionally or unintentionally. Remembering that nothing good comes easy - both gratitude and forgiveness require intention, practice and consistency through time but play an essential role in helping one achieve joy.
