It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of the beloved gospel music pioneer, Bishop Norman Earil Hutchins, who departed this life on Thursday morning at the age of 62. A towering figure in gospel music and a devoted servant of God, Bishop Hutchins’ voice, ministry, and message touched countless hearts around the world.

Norman Hutchins was more than just a celebrated artist—he was a true man of God, full of compassion, wisdom, and unwavering faith. Known for his anointed vocals and uplifting lyrics, he began his solo music career in 1992 with the release of his self-titled debut album under Sparrow Records. Over the next two decades, he would go on to release ten powerful albums that left an indelible mark on the genre.

His career journey saw him working with respected labels like Sparrow Records, JDI Records, and eventually stepping into independence with his own label, IR Records. Bishop Hutchins remained active and inspired to the very end—recently releasing a new book, planning a live recording, touring, and even working on a forthcoming movie.

Throughout his ministry, he gifted the world with timeless gospel hits such as “God’s Got A Blessing (With Your Name On It),” “Jesus I Love You,” “Emmanuel,” and “Battlefield.” Each song carried a message of hope, healing, and divine encouragement that continues to resonate across generations.

Bishop Hutchins leaves behind not only a rich musical legacy, but also the love of his life, Lady Karen Hutchins, and their family. Our heartfelt condolences, prayers, and love are extended to them during this incredibly difficult time.

Though the world has lost a gospel legend, heaven has gained a worshipper. Bishop Norman Hutchins’ music and ministry will live on forever in the hearts of those he touched.

Rest in peace, Bishop Norman Hutchins. Your name and your blessing will never be forgotten.
