Church Destroyed by 2011 Tornado to Dedicate Land and Hold Groundbreaking on New Church
Not many people in Tuscaloosa will soon forget the devastation left behind the massive tornado that destroyed much of the city on April 27, 2011. One of the churches destroyed in that time is seeking assistance as it works to rebuild.
Greater Faith and Victory Worship Center was located in Alberta City at the time of the storm and suffered significant damage. However, the doors of the church (the people) remained open at a different location, the Bobby Miller Activity Center off AL Highway 69 S.
After major renovations on its then-permanent structure, the church began meeting at both locations while working to build a new facility. The land dedication and groundbreaking for the new church will be held Sunday, March 4 at 1:00 p.m. on AL Highway 69 S, just beyond the Moundville water tower.
