Last night at First African Baptist Church, the remembrance of Blood Tuesday got off to a good start. There was good singing and a powerful sermon by Rev.Tyshawn Gardner from Plum Grove Baptist Church. The celebration continues today at 9 a.m. with a march from First African Baptist Church to the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse.
I remember fifty one years ago police beat people and shot tear gas into the church. Well, today police will be there to protect the marchers. We have come a long way but we still have a long way to go. Thanks to all the FOOT SOLDIERS; and most of all, THANK GOD.
