Alabama’s DeMarquis Campbell Releases New Single
DeMarquis Campbell is an arranger, songwriter, vocalist, musician, and producer whose main goal is to craft Christ centered music to edify the body and reach the lost. His roots are deeply rooted in the music ministry as he was made church organist at the tender age of just 10 years old at Antioch Church of God in Christ.
DeMarquis Campbell wears many musical hats, and his latest single further exemplifies his musical reach!
Every Time I Turn Around is quartet music at its finest! It is a declaration of God’s steadfast faithfulness toward us even in our inconsistencies.
The song’s instrumentation boasts of a crunchy Hammond B3 organ, melodic piano chords, airy guitar riffs, groovy bass lines, and stellar drum chops.
The vocalists gracing this track are Pastor Lee B. Walker Jr.(New Home Missionary Baptist Church) and Bishop Robert T. Lewis (Abundant Life Ministries & St. John Baptist Church). These two singing preachers masterfully take us on a musical journey from the valley to the pinnacle of the mountain top.
Every Time I Turn Around was first introduced by Campbell back in June to the male chorus of New Home where he serves as musical director. It instantly resonated with the hearts of the congregants, so he decided to proceed in recording it.
Upon release it has quickly touched the ears of listeners across the spectrum.
The D.O.C. Is In Productions seeks to encompass all the different expressions of gospel music and this track is another notch in the belt of diversity for the Kingdom!
Every Time I Turn Around is now available on all digital streaming platforms.
Musically he is a melting pot of different styles ranging from neo soul, jazz, rap, gospel, and R&B.
He has released a plethora of singles over the past two years. His most impactful effort to date is "It Didn't Knock Me Out" (2020) featuring Pastor Joe Pace Sr. (Father of Grammy nominated artist Joe Pace) and the very capable Pastor Lee B. Walker Jr. of New Home Missionary Baptist Church, Montgomery, AL.
This song is a declaration that speaks to individuals that have gone through tests and trials that may have rocked them to their core but are still alive to proclaim that "It didn't knock me out"!!
Other notable collaborations would include W. Clifford Petty on his rendition of "The Lord's Prayer" (2021), and Jhae Ray on the soul stirring ballad "Never give up" (2021).
He also produced Montgomery gospel artist Christopher Gholsby’s “It’s My Time” in 2020.
His talents reach beyond music as he is gearing up to release his first book entitled: "Close the Door" (How to Keep Your Spiritual House Clean)
Campbell currently serves as Music director at New Home Missionary Baptist Church, alongside Pastor Lee B. Walker Jr., and is the father of one daughter (Alyvia) and married to Natasha Campbell.
