As the summer comes to a close, most parents are preparing for the next school year to begin. Among their responsibilities is making sure their children have all of their supplies. To assist in this, the State of Alabama holds a sales tax holiday. This year's event will take place from 12:01 a.m. Friday, August 5 until midnight Sunday, August. 7.

For the 11th year, shoppers will not have to pay state sales taxes on school supplies, computers, books, or clothing. Of course, some local governments are also participating by waiving their local taxes. However, not all are taking part. To see who is (and who isn't), click here.
