The Alabama football team continued preparations for the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday afternoon, working a two-hour practice in full pads under the roof of the Hank Crisp Indoor Practice Facility.

Monday’s workout was the second of six practices prior to the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday, Jan. 11, in Glendale, Ariz. Alabama will square off with Clemson at University of Phoenix Stadium with the game scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. CT kickoff. The college football season’s final game will air on ESPN with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit calling the game from the booth, while Heather Cox and Tom Rinaldi work the sidelines. The No. 1 versus No. 2 matchup is the fourth time in the last seven seasons that the Crimson Tide has made an appearance in the national championship game.

Alabama and Clemson will meet for the 16th time and the first since the 2008 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta. In that game, the Tide came away with a resounding 34-10 victory over then-No. 9 Clemson to give head coach Nick Saban his first win against a top-10 opponent during his tenure at Alabama. The Tigers won each of the first three matchups with the Crimson Tide, but have fallen in each meeting since as Alabama enters Monday’s game riding a 12-game winning streak.
