Walter Energy Has Laid off Half of Its Workforce at Brookwood Mine

After laying off 129 workers at the No. 4 mine in October, Walter Energy has now eliminated 265 positions at the No. 7 mine in Brookwood.

Walter Energy spokesperson William Stanhouse stated that limited production will be maintained as they look into geological and depressed markets conditions.

Satanhouse also said that the layoffs are considered temporary and the mine's production will resume as conditions permit.
