Needle-like Metal Found in Candy
I remember years ago when children would go trick-or-treating, you'd hear a lot about parents checking the candy before allowing the children to eat it. Such warnings are not as prevalent anymore, but they're obviously needed as reports have emerged of needles being found in Halloween candy.
According to ABC 33/40, reports have been made in Pennsylvania and Minnesota of needle-like objects found in Halloween candy. Even more scary is that the candy bars were wrapped in original paper. Authorities have confiscated the candy and packaging for examination, and warnings were issued for parents to check all candy given to their children as well as any they bought to give to trick-or-treaters if there was any left behind.
Luckily, no injuries as a result of tampered candy have been reported.
