Sources report that the United Auto Workers  planned a possible strike for Z F Industries in Tuscaloosa, stemming from negotiation over a new contract. The strike was set to begin on Monday, August 26 at 6:00 a.m.

However, new information suggests that the strike has been called off for now, although a new contract has not been solidified.  Negotiations continue.

Z F, which was nominated to be Manufacturer of the Year, employs 324 and produces parts for Mercedes. So, if there is a strike, which hinders production of parts, what does that mean for Mercedes U.S. International and its other suppliers?  Could their operations take a hit, too?
