Two construction workers were seriously injured Saturday when metal beams fell on them during work at Bryant-Denny Stadium, crushing and trapping them in place.

A spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Service said they were called to the stadium and extracted the two injured men, who were then taken to DCH Regional Medical Center where they were admitted in critical condition.

The Fire Rescue Service representative said the accident occurred when two metal beams fell on a lift the two men were operating.
