Praise 93.3 & 790 WTSK salutes our Tuscaloosa Pastor of the Week Rev. Dr. Matthew Wilson of the Providence Missionary Baptist Church of Marion, Alabama. Pastor Wilson is a powerful speaker, pastor and has a heart for Tuscaloosa, Marion and West Alabama. He is a strong advocate for the community and our youth and works tirelessly.

Matthew Wilson is a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He is the third child of David and Patricia A. Wilson. He was called into ministry at the age of nine and has been actively engaged in ministry for over 25 years. He graduated from Central High School with Honors. He furthered his Education to Stillman College Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he received his bachelor’s degree in Religion and Philosophy with a Minor in Psychology.

Wilson also continued his education to Morehouse School of Religion at The Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC)  of Atlanta, Georgia with a Master of Divinity, while attending a Morehouse, he served as the President of Morehouse Student Union and an advocate for the marginalized. He also has received a Doctorate of Divinity from St. Luke Episcopal School of Biblical Studies.

Civilly, he serves as a member of SCLC Tuscaloosa chapter. He's a Fall 2002 initiate of Epsilon Nu Chapter at Stillman College and is currently a member of Delta Phi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He's also a member of Stillman Lodge #490  Tuscaloosa, Al.  Also, he serves as immediate past President of Tuscaloosa Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance and the Pastor of the Providence Missionary Baptist  Church Marion, Alabama.

In his spare time musically, Rev. Wilson likes to play the piano, organ, and drums. He loves to take time in the community visiting the students and mentoring them. He also takes time to visit and encourage senior members of the community. He also is a volunteer with Junior Achievement, Book Buddies through the University of Alabama. During his leisure time he likes to fish, ride horses and travel.
