Two of the Tuscaloosa County School System's senior administrators announced their pending retirements during the school board's meeting Tuesday, according to a report from CBS 42. 

The TV station reports that superintendent Walter Davie and chief school financial officer Danny Higdon both announced plans to retire in the next six months.

Davie, who has served as superintendent since August 2015, will stay on until May 31st, when this school year ends.

Higdon, who has been TCSS's CSFO for 14 years, said he will step down effective March 31st.

Tuscaloosa County Board of Education President Charles Orr told CBS 42 that the board will begin searching for replacements immediately and hopes to announce new hires to the position quickly.
