The University of Alabama Black Faculty and Staff Association, known as BFSA, will be hosting the Wakanda Scholarship Ball to assist in funding for two scholarship endowments managed by BFSA.

These scholarships aid The Alabama Black Faculty and Staff Association Annual Support Fund and the Quasi Endowed Scholarship. “These funding opportunities aid BFSA in awarding scholarships, fund student-centered programming, and help with needs-based requests impacting minority students attending The University of Alabama.”

The undertaking of the Black Faculty and Staff Association's (BFSA) is to “contribute to the betterment of The University of Alabama by serving as an advocate for educational equity, with an emphasis on African-American students, and the professional needs of its members.”

There is tons of excitement about the BFSA Wakanda Scholarship Ball on February 5th, 2022, at 6:00 pm at the Bryant Conference Center on the University of Alabama campus. The Big Dawg DreDay will be providing the soundtrack for the evening festivities.  Attendees of the ball have been asked to wear formal African Heritage Wear or After Five Attire.

Ticket Information

According to the Facebook Event page, "Tickets are $60 per person, $110 for Duo, and $460 for Premium Reserved Seating (Table of Eight) to benefit the BFSA Quasi-Endowed Scholarship and the BFSA Annual Support Fund. Tickets cover parking, admittance, entertainment, and dinner. A separate Cash Bar will be available to those that wish to partake."

COVID Protocol

As reported by the BFSA, “in an effort to keep our community safe, attendees will be required to present proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within three calendar days of the event in order to enter the venue. If an attendee is not able to present one of these two pieces of information, event staff will deny entry. All attendees must wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
