The Rev. Jesse Jackson  is a Civil rights activist, Baptist minister, politician, founder of Rainbow/Push, candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1984 and 1988, served as a shadow U.S. for the District of Columbia from 1991 to 1997, hosted ‘Both Sides with Jesse Jackson on CNN from 1992 to 2000.

The mother of Rev. Jesse Jackson Helen Burns Jackson has died at the age of 92.  According to Rev. Jesse Jackson his mother died in her longtime home of Greenville South Carolina Monday morning.

Jackson said is his mother was an active member of her church.
