We are continually observing Tropical Storm, Laura, and Marco.  At this time, it is shaping up that these tropical systems have the potential to make landfall at nearly the same time.  There are tons of variables that go into tracking tropical developments.  Therefore, it is our goal to keep tabs on these developing situations closely.

Things you should know about Laura and Marco

  • Laura and Marco are both Tropical Storms; this means their wind speed is between 39 mph and 73 mph.
  • Several days away from a possible Untied States impact.
  • The path, strength, and impacts to the United States are still uncertain at this time. However, there are useful projections to help us prepare.
  • The seasonal water temperature average for the Gulf of Mexico is between 85 and 87 degrees.
  • Laura and Marco could interact with each other while they are both in the Gulf of Mexico. (Stressing the word “could”) There are so many variables that could propel or prohibit that from happening.
