Possible COVID-19 Treatments Are Under Clinical Trials

As we are dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic for our area, in Alabama, the United States, and the world, the common question I hear, is why is there no treatment for the coronavirus?  According to NBC News, “more than 100 clinical trials of dozens of potential treatments have already begun in multiple countries.”  This is good news that gives me some hope.  I now know three people that have contracted the coronavirus and I am thinking of them constantly. Also, NBC News reported that “there are myriad experimental treatments in the works.”  According to the Food and Drug Administration, “One investigational treatment being explored for COVID-19 involves the use of convalescent plasma collected from recovered COVID-19 patients. It is possible that convalescent plasma that contains antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) might be effective against the infection.” Let’s all hope and pray for some information to develop from these clinical trials and that can bring us all some hope that we need to get through this pandemic.
