Local Artist David Martin is reaching out to the Tuscaloosa community for help in his quest to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest etched glass mural.

'I feel like it's my chance to showcase the strength of this wonderful community after suffering a natural disaster, 'Martin said. 'Tuscaloosa has such a rich history, culture and future.'

Stan Pate of Pate Holdings has donated the venue and David will announce the start date after he has successfully raised $15,000 for supplies which include sand and plate glass. Once he begins, Martin anticipates the project to require one month to complete and after the Guinness Book of World Record has been established, he will shatter the glass and share his 'piece' of history with everyone.
