Everybody is talking about Kirby Smart going to Georgia. Kirby will no longer be the highest paid assistant he will head coach of the University of Georgia. Kirby Smart has agreed to a six-year contract with Georgia that will pay him $3.75 million a year.

If he leads Georgia to a national championship he gets a healthy $1 million bonus. He will make an additional $400,000 for winning an SEC Championship; $200,000 for a top five finish in either the Associated Press or coaches poll; $200,000 for making one of six New Year’s Day Bowls; $50,000 if he finishes in the top third in graduation success rate and academic progress rate; $50,000 for being named SEC Coach of the Year; $100,000 for being national coach of the year; $13.5 million if he is terminated after one season.

If he leaves after one year he would owe Georgia $3.75 million.
