The Alabama Governor's Job Fair for people with disabilities is happening today in Birmingham.

In it's fifth year, the job fair will take place at the Lawson State Community College campus in Birmingham, located at 3060 Wilson Road, SW. The event will run from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m.

In a recent press release, Alabama's Governor Kay Ivey spoke on the event. "I am proud to host the Fifth Annual Job Fair," she said, "[T]o help those with disabilities connect with employers who need their services right away."

Governor Ivey emphasized that the job fair has its doors open for all interested parties. "Come down and see what works for you," she said.

In addition to Governor Ivey's office, the fair is hosted in partnership with the Alabama Career Center System, The Alabama Department of Labor, and WBRC FOX6 News.

WBRC reported that more than 60 businesses had already registered. Such businesses include Publix, Coca Cola Bottling Company, Alabama Professional Services and more.

The job is fair is free, and job-seekers can register here.

Job seekers are asked to dress professionally and bring several copies of their resume. The Alabama Career Center System will have their team present to assist jobseekers.
