Families in Hale County are invited to prepare for the upcoming school year during a back-to-school supply giveaway, health fair and family fun day in Greensboro.

State Sen. Bobby Singleton will host the community event on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Greensboro Recreation Center, also known as the Armory.

The event will provide school supplies to help local students return to the classroom prepared for the new school year. Families will also have access to a health fair and activities designed to create a fun day for the community.

Organizers are currently accepting school supply donations. Items can be dropped off at Greensboro City Hall with Lorrie Cook.

Monetary donations are also being accepted through the Hale County Enrichment Society, Inc. Checks and money orders should be made payable to the organization and mailed to P.O. Box 688, Greensboro, Alabama 36744.
