Tuscaloosa Breast Cancer Event to Celebrate Survivors

Tuscaloosa residents are invited to wear pink and come together for an evening of entertainment, awareness and support for those impacted by breast cancer.

Shon Robinson Management will present a Breast Cancer Awareness Event on Friday, Oct. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Spades Restaurant & Lounge, located at 1735 Culver Road in Tuscaloosa.

Hosted by Alabama’s Funniest Comedian, Comedian LP, the event will bring together music, comedy, education and community engagement as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The event will be held under the theme “Together, We Fight Brighter” and is designed to recognize breast cancer survivors while also supporting those currently fighting the disease and the families who have stood alongside them.

“This is bigger than just putting on another event,” Comedian LP said. “We want the people who have fought breast cancer, the people who are still fighting, and the families who have stood beside them to know that their community sees them, supports them, and celebrates their strength.”

The entertainment lineup will include appearances and performances from Lihric, Dawn Marquis, DeMarie, Temperature, Meka Carey and Comedian Shawn Crosskey.

Breast cancer survivors are especially encouraged to attend as organizers take time during the event to recognize their courage, resilience and continued fight.

Admission is a $10 donation. Organizers say a percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation.

While entertainment will be a major part of the evening, organizers say the event will also emphasize education, support and empowerment.

“We can have a great time while still bringing awareness to something that affects so many families,” LP said.

Community members are encouraged to attend wearing pink and bring family members and friends to show their support for survivors and others whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer.

The Breast Cancer Awareness Event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Spades Restaurant & Lounge in Tuscaloosa.
