RESPECT Back-to-School Rally
There is a great opportunity to get the supplies you need this evening, Thursday, August 6, at the 2026 RESPECT Back-to-School Rally. The event is brought to you by Beulah Baptist Church and The Respect Organization and starts at 6 p.m. at 3101 Martin Luther King Blvd, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401.
Beulah Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa and Pastor David E. Gay Jr., along with Pastor Steve Green of More than Conquerors Church in Birmingham, Alabama, teamed up to bring this great free event to the area.
“In a time when people all over the world are challenged to meet the basic family survival needs, it is important that society and the church rise to the occasion,” said Green. “With that in mind, Beulah Baptist Church and the RESPECT Organization will host a Back-to-School Rally filled with backpacks, school supplies, social service agencies, giveaways, and short motivational exhortations to prepare our students to be ready on day one.”

Townsquare Media Live at the RESPECT Back-to-School Rally

Ahead of tonight's festivities, Mary K of Townsquare Media caught up with Pastor Gay. He said that 1,500 backpacks will be given away at the RESPECT Back-to-School Rally.
“What we did was take the list from the Tuscaloosa School System with the teachers they wanted that student to have, and we went shopping,” said Gay. “And we got all kinds of folders, all kinds of crayons, all kinds of erasers, markers, pens, pencils, and backpacks filled with goodies.”
