Tuscaloosa’s Unique Customs Show Revs Up for Toys for Tots
The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation has delivered hope to children for over 75 years. Over the years, the program has distributed 652 million toys and supported 291 million kids, according to the foundation's website.
This year, the West Alabama Toys for Tots that services Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa counties said there is “an overwhelming need.” The available slots for families requesting toys was filled within 36 hours.
Saturday, December 2, the 7th Annual Toys for Tots Unique Customs Car, Truck, and Bike Show will help support the demand for toys. The event will be held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the University Mall Overflow lot at 1701 McFarland Boulevard East Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
Admission is a $20 entry fee or a new unwrapped toy of equal value.
The Car, Truck, and Bike Show features multiple classes for a wide range of vehicles, from “Power Wheels for the kids all the way up to full-size semis. Be sure to follow the signs and look for the huge military trucks and the Heaven Bound Mud Bogger,” said the event coordinator. Click here for more details about the event.
