The Townsquare Media Weather Center is currently tracking a system of showers and storms, expected to move into our vicinity early today, presenting a potential threat of severe weather.

"The storms will progress southward through the state today; the main threats will come from small hail and strong, gusty winds. By afternoon, the heavier storms will be over the southern half of the state. Rain amounts will be in the 1-2 inch range for most of Alabama through tonight," said James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist.
