ALERT: West Alabama Faces Extended Heat Advisory
The weather community is paying attention to daily record highs because there are hints that some cities may break temperature records.
Over the southern region, a dome of high pressure will continue to bring our area some dangerous heat index values.

Closer to home, West Alabama counties will experience soaring heat index values between 105 °F – 110 °F, which has prompted a HEAT ADVISORY through Tuesday, July 29 at 9 p.m. This includes the entire Townsquare Media coverage area.

The short answer, YES!
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist, said “Global models suggest temperatures will be well below average; highs in the mid 80s Saturday, and potentially in the low 80s Sunday. Some record low maximum temperature values are possible Sunday.”
